This past weekend the Geneva Knights cross country team competed in the Stampede sprint in Tampa. It was another great race with tons of amazing team and individual performances. Kicking the day off with a bang, the boys varsity team had another dominating performance scoring 41 points, over 50 points ahead of 2nd place. They were led by Jude Stainsby (17th), Ryder Dempsey (12th), Tyler McDow (9th), Benaiah Lawton (5th) all of whom medaled, and individual champion Oliver Dempsey winning his second race of the year and breaking his own school record running a 15:48. Following that up, the girls varsity had a strong showing by placing 3rd as a team, only 9 points behind first in a very competitive race. They ran the best team average in team history led by Ella Feder (13th) and Carolina Austin (8th) both medaling, with Carolina breaking her own school record by running a 19:45. On the JV side, Mathias Harmon medaled for the second week in a row, placing 8th. In the middle school races, Liddy Nichols (8th) and Anna Lawton (2nd) both medaled for the girls and Lincoln Austin (8th) and Sawyer Dempsey (2nd) also took home medals on the boys side. Finishing out the day, Josiah Austin (10th) and Peter Lawton (2nd) both were able to finish in the top 10 for the elementary crew.
Awesome Job Knights!
