EL1-ECG Screening

(INCOMING FRESHMEN AND NEW HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES)
ECG (Formally known as EKG) Requirement for High School Athletes

Beginning July 1, 2026, the SSAA will require an ECG screening for certain high school student-athletes (grades 9–12) before they are eligible to participate in practices, workouts, tryouts, or competitions. An ECG completed on or after July 1, 2024 will satisfy this requirement. At Geneva, this will primarily affect incoming freshmen and new high school athletes who have not previously participated in an SSAA sport. If your athlete has already participated in an SSAA sport such as Varsity Volleyball, Football, or Varsity Basketball, they do not need to complete an additional ECG screening at this time. By July 1, 2029, all high school athletes participating in SSAA athletics will be required to have an ECG on file.
